Changes and affected systems
Beehives are back ↗
Beehives can be built under Private Structures, entered, tended and used to harvest Honey and Beeswax. Training bees for special tasks is also available.
Selling Honey and Beeswax ↗
Honey and Beeswax can be sold at the marketplace. The developer describes additional production-chain uses as future work, not a shipped recipe list.
Training bees for special tasks ↗
The update confirms that bees can be trained for special tasks. It does not enumerate task costs, success probabilities or all outcomes.
Set target stock for crafted goods ↗
Right-click a crafting recipe in a business to choose storage, storefront or a target-stock policy. The September 24 explanation describes sending production above the retained target to the storefront.
Read the price breakdown ↗
Price tooltips now expose more contributing factors, including base price, buying markup, Negotiation and storefront discounts. The current city comparison also shows best and worst prices.
Historical minimum and maximum prices ↗
The price display includes a historical minimum and maximum alongside current city prices. A past low price is a comparison point, not a promise that the offer is available now.
Late-game performance after 0.4.5 ↗
The developer reports substantial late-game performance improvements and several crash fixes. These changes do not establish that every save or hardware configuration is free of stutters.
Why there are four autosaves ↗
The game now keeps four autosaves per playthrough instead of ten. Manual saves are not deleted by this retention change.
Adoption and the remarriage workaround ↗
Adopting children was added while remarriage after a spouse dies remains unresolved. Adoption provides another family option; the patch does not say that remarriage itself is fixed.
Jump to the Guild House ↗
A Guild House shortcut was added to quick navigation. It saves a map search; it does not grant membership, a profession rank or a new office.
Item effects and old work-in-progress labels ↗
More items received effects and many obsolete work-in-progress labels were removed. The announcement does not identify every affected item.
Fencing Master crime suppression ↗
The Fencing Master gained a crime-suppression action. The developer describes it as weaker than the Colonel action without publishing a numeric ratio.
City treasury after the rebalance ↗
Treasury behavior was adjusted to collect taxes and receive imperial payments in relation to city renown. Older fixed treasury figures should not be treated as an income forecast.
How dynasty renown is summed ↗
Dynasty renown now sums the members of the dynasty, with the current head counted twice. This is a documented aggregation rule, not a prediction of future renown gains.
Crime and unrest were rebalanced ↗
The update changes crime rate and unrest effects. No complete formula or per-district probability is published in the announcement.
Burglary frequency after 0.4.5 ↗
Burglary rates were rebalanced. The notes do not provide a universal safe threshold or guarantee that a security improvement prevents every burglary.
Cart ambushes after both EA patches ↗
Hotfix 0.4.1 reduced attacks and shifted targeting toward more valuable carts. Update 0.4.5 rebalanced ambushes again to make them less frequent and more predictable.
No suitable courting candidates ↗
Update 0.4.5 lists a fix ensuring suitable courting candidates are available. This is separate from the unresolved remarriage-after-death problem.
Carts are no longer blocked from purchase ↗
The cart-purchasing issue was fixed; the patch states that players can purchase as many carts as they like. This does not mean carts are free or that all destinations have identical inventory.
An escort should not expire after its first fight ↗
The patch fixes escorts expiring immediately after their first fight. A separate voice line announces ordinary escort expiry.
Crafting stops when storage is full ↗
Production now halts and raises a notification when storage is full. A stopped job can therefore be the intended response to an unavailable output destination.
Hard to Kill no longer makes a character effectively immortal ↗
The update lists a fix for the Hard to Kill trait making characters effectively immortal. The patch does not publish a replacement lifespan or death probability.
Child poses and adult appearance ↗
The patch fixes T-posing children and characters keeping their child appearance after growing up. These visual fixes do not define the mechanical age or inheritance rules.
Close ordinary windows with right-click ↗
Right-click closes windows except over interactive areas such as recipes and portraits. Right-clicking a recipe can open its production-routing settings instead.
Cannot remarry after a spouse dies ↗
Remarriage after a spouse dies remains an acknowledged issue in 0.4.5. Adoption was added as a workaround, and should not be described as a marriage fix.
Current and future professions
Current: Smith, Tailor, Joiner, Stonemason, Priest, Innkeeper, Alchemist and Perfumer. The archive uses Priest as the official roster name and recognizes Preacher as the secondary/source alias.
Thief, Robber and Guard remain tied to Stabby. Moneylender and Trader remain tied to 1.0. An NPC robber, a prison guard-service task or a database record does not make those careers playable.
