FIELD GUIDE CHECKED SEP 27, 2026 · PATCH 0.4.5

Workers and production assignments

Workers perform business tasks and progress through training and mastery. Hotfix 0.4.1 fixed training that sometimes failed to increase a skill; 0.4.5 halts crafting and notifies you when output storage is full.

Current EA changes that affect this page

Production now halts and raises a notification when storage is full. A stopped job can therefore be the intended response to an unavailable output destination. A bug that sometimes prevented training from increasing a skill was fixed. The announcement does not supply a universal amount gained by every action.

Assignment comes before output

Inspect the worker’s assigned task and the task’s inputs. A visible worker animation is useful context, but the management screen is the place to check the actual assignment. The July update added animations that reflect tasks, so older footage may not show this relationship.

Changing an active job

Unassigning a worker in the middle of gathering or another ongoing task can lose progress, according to the dated patch notes. Wait for completion when the work already invested matters more than the new task. The planner lets you record allocations, but it does not invent production speed.

Capacity and wages

Do not assume every workshop or improvement has the same number of slots. Read the capacity and wages in the installed build, then record them alongside the business. Higher worker totals are not automatically better when ingredients, storage or transport are limiting production.
