Current EA changes that affect this page
Right-click a crafting recipe in a business to choose storage, storefront or a target-stock policy. The September 24 explanation describes sending production above the retained target to the storefront. Production now halts and raises a notification when storage is full. A stopped job can therefore be the intended response to an unavailable output destination. Masters no longer sell ingredients through carts or storefronts unless storage is completely full. The storage-full exception is part of the documented rule. The hotfix restricts Masters to empty carts as a temporary mitigation. The developer explicitly defers more complete control over cart allocation to a later management update.
The announced prerequisite
Choose the family member and verify their profession-guild membership before expecting the master assignment to work. The EA launch confirms the first Master implementation; hotfix 0.4.1 and update 0.4.5 change its ingredient, cart and output-routing behavior.
Shared resources still need attention
The developer explicitly warns that this early automation may use money or carts you needed elsewhere. Before enabling a master, identify the business’s expected input purchases and transport needs. Record another planned purchase so unexpected spending is visible.
Review the result
Inspect assignments, available funds and cart destinations after the master begins work. If you need tight control for a particular production run, compare the current behaviour with your plan. A master is not a verified guarantee of optimal profit, nor proof of a fully passive business.
