Current EA changes that affect this page
Dynasty renown now sums the members of the dynasty, with the current head counted twice. This is a documented aggregation rule, not a prediction of future renown gains. Update 0.4.5 lists a fix ensuring suitable courting candidates are available. This is separate from the unresolved remarriage-after-death problem. The update lists a fix for the Hard to Kill trait making characters effectively immortal. The patch does not publish a replacement lifespan or death probability. EA character creation offers name and surname choices, backstories, crests and portraits. Backstories can affect character and heir statistics.
Separate people from roles
Record who is in the family, who is intended as heir and who manages a business. The September roadmap describes family-member masters, but requires membership in the corresponding profession guild. A family relationship alone does not establish that prerequisite.
Review continuity
The dynasty diary describes choosing a child or spouse as successor and transferring titles, buildings and money. It also describes risks to family members. A useful plan identifies a preferred successor and an alternative without assigning invented mortality or fertility percentages.
Keep the plan local
The dynasty planner stores your notes in this browser and can export a file. It has no game-save connection and cannot discover a missing heir automatically. Check the in-game nomination state, then record it explicitly before relying on the plan.
How a dynasty continues
Select a relationship to inspect its evidence. These links describe systems, not an automatic eligibility rule or a probability.
Marriage → Family
