Adopting children was added while remarriage after a spouse dies remains unresolved. Adoption provides another family option; the patch does not say that remarriage itself is fixed. Dynasty renown now sums the members of the dynasty, with the current head counted twice. This is a documented aggregation rule, not a prediction of future renown gains. The update lists a fix for the Hard to Kill trait making characters effectively immortal. The patch does not publish a replacement lifespan or death probability. Remarriage after a spouse dies remains an acknowledged issue in 0.4.5. Adoption was added as a workaround, and should not be described as a marriage fix.
Make an inheritance inventory
Record the intended heir and the important businesses, properties and titles in your plan. List the current political role separately. The source describes inherited titles but does not prove that every office appointment transfers unchanged.
Check the law in your city
The crime diary associates inheritance tax with the Treasurer’s responsibilities. That makes the current law state relevant to a succession plan. Do not substitute a historical or competitor percentage for the tax shown in your save.
Before continuing a long campaign
Confirm the nominee is alive and eligible in the game, record a fallback and export your planning notes. Keep a separate game-save backup through updates. The July demo patch corrected challenges and victory conditions passing to an heir, which demonstrates why version context matters.
