FIELD GUIDE CHECKED SEP 27, 2026 · PATCH 0.4.5

Reading and planning a family tree

Use the family tree to review relationships and prepare successors. In 0.4.5, dynasty renown sums every member and counts the current dynasty head twice; adoption provides another family option.

Current EA changes that affect this page

The patch fixes T-posing children and characters keeping their child appearance after growing up. These visual fixes do not define the mechanical age or inheritance rules.

Track the relationship and the job

Record family relationships separately from business and political roles. One person may be relevant to several plans. The local tree planner lets you connect a parent and child and attach notes, without importing or modifying a game save.

Keep nomination visible

A family tree is a relationship view; it should not be taken as proof that an heir has been nominated. Check the game’s nomination control and store that state in the succession checklist.

Export before changing devices

Local plans are saved in the current browser. Export a JSON copy when you want to move a plan or preserve it before clearing browser data. The export includes a format version so future updates can validate imports instead of silently dropping relationships.
