Building improvements: evaluate the benefit

Evaluate an improvement by the specific constraint it solves: worker access, new production, storage, safety or customer appeal. A larger building does not automatically mean a better return.

Burglary rates were rebalanced. The notes do not provide a universal safe threshold or guarantee that a security improvement prevents every burglary. The hotfix fixes failed quarter-improvement actions and increases AI willingness to invest in improvements against deteriorating quarter values.

Record the effect, cost and delay

Read the improvement panel in your game. Note what changes, how much it costs and when it finishes. The developer’s business diary confirms construction takes time, which means a benefit can arrive after the problem you hoped to solve.

Check the rest of the chain

A production upgrade may require more ingredients, storage or cart journeys. Ask whether those are available before spending. Conversely, a storage improvement may protect a production plan without directly increasing output per worker.

Why ROI remains gated

A game-specific return estimate needs the actual cost and a measured incremental benefit in the same build. Old demo effects cannot fill missing launch fields. The ROI route remains a data gate until this evidence exists; a generic payback number would conceal too many assumptions.
