Preserve a campaign before testing a workaround

Inspect the right state

Confirm the campaign and installed build, then make a manual save before reproducing a risky sequence. Record the action you intend to test. The patch explicitly says manual saves are not deleted by the new autosave-retention rule.

Make the decision

Change one condition at a time and retain both the original and the result needed for a bug report. Do not delete files or convert an old demo save based solely on a missing autosave slot. Old demo compatibility is a different version-boundary issue.

Verify the result

After the test, confirm which save you are continuing. A reproducible report should identify the checkpoint, the exact sequence and the observed result, while allowing you to return to the original campaign state.
