FIELD GUIDE CHECKED SEP 27, 2026 · PATCH 0.4.5

Track business expenses

A business ledger should separate ingredients, wages, repairs, taxes and improvements. Use costs you actually observe, with a clear time period, before comparing them with revenue.

Recurring and one-off spending

Ingredients and wages can recur while an improvement is a distinct purchase. Mixing them without a period makes two businesses hard to compare. Record the turn or interval each figure covers and whether a cost is already paid or still planned.

Shared costs need an allocation

One cart may serve several workshops, and a repair may support more than one product. If you allocate part of that cost to a batch, record the method. The margin tool will add the amount you enter; it cannot know which share belongs to a product.

Keep unknown costs visible

An empty field and zero are different. Empty means you have not supplied the amount. Zero means you intentionally modeled no cost in that category. A forecast that omits a tax or repair should remain an incomplete scenario, not a verified profit claim.
