Production chains

Production chains connect raw inputs, intermediate goods and finished products. The official Smith example links iron ingots to fittings, then fittings and silver ingots to a silver chain.

Current EA changes that affect this page

Masters no longer sell ingredients through carts or storefronts unless storage is completely full. The storage-full exception is part of the documented rule. The hotfix lists a correction for AI Masters not crafting recipes with multiple ingredients. Missing inputs, transport delays and full storage remain separate causes to inspect. EA launch lowered the availability and replenishment of Silver Ingot, Gold Ingot, Precious Stone, Oakwood Board, Slate Tile and Musk. No fixed replacement stock formula is published.

Read the dependencies first

A relationship graph answers what a product depends on. A recipe calculator also needs verified quantities, output per craft and any relevant cycle rules. Our graph deliberately exposes that difference: the silver-chain relationships are documented, while numeric requirements remain gated.

Buy or craft an intermediate

Fittings can be crafted or purchased in the official example. Compare the actual purchase price with the ingredients and work needed in your build. Keep enough of the intermediate for downstream products before treating it as surplus.

Follow the output beyond the market

The silver chain illustrates a second destination: an item can influence political opinion instead of being sold. This connects the economy database to the political graph. The effect’s current magnitude is not known, so the explorer shows the relationship without assigning a profit or influence score.

Check each required input and output destination. Quantities are not loaded into a numerical game calculator without values you verify in your own save.
