FIELD GUIDE CHECKED SEP 27, 2026 · PATCH 0.4.5

Trials and penalties

Pressing charges can lead to a trial in the official crime-system description. The diary connects the result to evidence and character presentation, with punishments depending on the severity of the crime.

Current EA changes that affect this page

The patch fixes receiving five weak evidence pieces instead of one strong piece. Strength and piece count should not be treated as interchangeable measurements.

Prepare from the accusation

Identify the alleged action and its current legal severity. Record what evidence is held and which response options the game offers. Do not assume that an older guide’s fine or sentence applies to your present city.

Influence has limits

The diary mentions eloquence, appearance, special items, bribery and blackmail. These are possible factors, not a formula for guaranteed acquittal. Some attempted responses can create additional legal exposure, so inspect the available choices and Lawbook together.

Preserve the outcome

Record the judgement, penalty and build when you are testing a court mechanic. The patch system can then mark a related guide stale when punishment rules change. No crime or trial probability is calculated until the game exposes a validated rule.
